Single Malt Ice Whisky 10 Year Old Glen Breton Rare

At the suggestion of a Glen Breton fan, Glen Breton Distillery approached an award-winning Nova Scotia winery requesting to use one of their oak barrels once used for their ice wine to finish one of Glen Breton’s cask strength whiskies. With the partnership in place, the experiment began. Because ice wine is powerful in its own unique way, Glen Breton Distillery tasted the whisky each day as it picked up trace hints of sweetness and fruit from the grape. After 4 months it was felt that the ideal finish was achieved.

The collaboration brought together two of Nova Scotia’s finest producers, blending the unique characteristics of the region’s acclaimed ice wine with the robust, rich profile of Glen Breton’s cask strength whisky. This innovative finishing process resulted in a whisky that embodies the essence of both spirits. The ice wine barrels imparted delicate notes of honeyed fruit, enhancing the whisky’s natural complexity with layers of sweetness and a subtle grape influence. Each sip reveals a harmonious balance of flavours, with the smooth warmth of the whisky complemented by the vibrant, luscious undertones from the ice wine.
